Pipeline Surveys

Detailed DC Voltage Gradient survey to determine pipeline coating condition and characterise coating faults
This is the simplest survey and only provides an accurate indication of the location and status of coating faults. The position and severity (%IR) of each coating fault is determined, and also it’s DCVG corrosion status (anodic or cathodic), both with the Cathodic Protection system ON or OFF. Coating faults are classified as small (0-15%IR), medium (16-35%IR), or large (36-100%IR).

The client receives a report, which summarises the condition of the pipeline and includes tabulated information on the uncorrected severity and corrosion status of each coating fault. In addition, a pipeline coating rehabilitation program is recommended for those coating faults requiring repair which are listed in a Rehabilitation Packages of Work Table. Data analysis is in its simplest form.

Type A Survey

Type B Survey

More

As Type A plus Soil Resistivity survey to identify those coating faults in a corrosive environment.

By supplementing the detailed DCVG survey with a Soil Resistivity survey, this type of survey permits the local environment of coating faults to be taken into account when selecting coating faults for repair. Soil Resistivity can be measured locally or continuously. Local Soil Resistivity/Corrosivity for each coating fault is recorded in addition to the data recorded in a Type A survey.

The client receives a report, which summarises the condition of the pipeline and includes tabulated information on severity, corrosion status and Soil Resistivity for each coating fault. In addition, a pipeline coating rehabilitation program is proposed; coating faults requiring repair are listed and, if require, allocated to Rehabilitation Packages of Work.
